Algernon Cadwallader. A very out there band. a friend told me about them in high school and i used to go on their myspace all the time. Then i totally forgot about them until a month ago when i saw a post on a forum i go on. So i snagged this LP on eBay for like $10.
The Wonder Years. A band that has honestly changed my life. I know it sounds cliche and frankly corny as fuck to say but for a period of time i listened to this wonder years record (The upsides) and it really spoke to me. I mean really really spoke to me. I was relating to this record on such a higher level then i ever thought possible. I looked at frontman Dan Cambell’s lyrics as if they we’re advise on life. and i listened. And i can’t say weather or not i’m better for having heard this record but at the time i felt inspired and motivated to be happy. Here’s a quck exerpt from the prelude written in the liner notes.
”“The whole world wants you to be miserable. It wants you to put your head down, sigh to yourself and give up on being happy, and I know just as well as anyone that sometimes, giving up seems like the only option, but if you take one thing from this record I hope it’s this. Don’t give those mother-fuckers an inch. Stand your ground every chance you get because everybody deserves a chance to be happy”
Everytime i read this it gives me chills. i think after this record got so popular and so many kids started liking the wonder years there almost became this backlash. like it wasn’t cool to like them anymore. but regardless i’ll still tell people there in my top three bands and this record could be the most important record of my life to date.
anyways i’m done being all sappy. I got this repress of The upsides from Run For Cover records. i think about 20$. took me forever to get it though. Probably like 3 months. regardless its an amazing album and as you can see it looks really nice too. so as usual thanks for reading and i’ll throw some links down at the bottom.

Okay so this is basically how i’m gonna be doing this. here’s pictures of all aspects of one record. (Man Overboards Self titled) Then i’ll just write a lil bit about it. here goes.
Okay so man overboard is one of my favorite bands. They are from my hometown and i’ve been listening to them since they were called Geronimo. then home again. and finally man overboard. they have always had such a catchy feel to them and i can never seem to get their songs out of my head. I feel really proud that a band with this much talent comes from Williamstown NJ. they are just starting to get really big in the scene. (well relatively big) They signed to rise records and this was there label debut. i got this record as part of the mega bundle pre-order thingy. (LP,CD,Poster,Hoodie,$55) and i believe it was the only way at the time to get the orange splatter. so glad i did because as you can see it look beautiful. Now to be honest this album didn’t really blow me away at first. It was alot different then what i was expecting. They totally took a different rout then i was hoping for so at first i was a lil disapointed. but i think after i gave this a few spins it began to grow on me. and then more spins and more growing. till now i love it. it’s funny how some albums work like that. favorite track is probbly Punishment. so yea i’ll post some links down here to listen/buy the album if you like it.

Introduction
Okay so i decided to set up a blog to show off my records. I don’t have a large collection compared to some of the people out there but i thought it would be fun to track my progress and just record my journey into the world of wax. It would have been a good idea to do this when i first started collecting but as usual i’m a little behind with the good idea’s. (if this is even a good idea). I’ve only been collecting for a little over a year now and i’ve managed to get over 100 records. (including LP’s and 7”s) so i’ll be posting pictures of them all on here and telling the story of how i acquired that particular piece of wax. (If i can remember) i May post one a day i may post more. then when i have them all up i’ll just do the new stuff i get. I may also have some vinyl related news or little interesting stories/facts i may come across. (but don’t expect this to be a source of news)
